What’s next? A little musical next weekend in Montclair at @vtcnj! These teen actors are unbelievably talented, committed, and kind young professionals. They’ll break your hearts and inspire you! (Meanwhile, I play 9 various problematic adult men- some funny, some terrifying—representing oppression, patriarchy and abuse! Don’t miss it! 😆💁🏻‍♂️) #springawakening #vanguardtheatercompany #localtheatre #montclairnj

Spring Awakening 2026 VTC Summer Stock 🪻

I’ve been trying to sum up all that this show means to me but words cannot describe how truly grateful I am. Over the past two weeks me and 17 other teenagers spent our time putting together Spring Awakening at @vtcnj Summer Stock which we closed yesterday. This show and these people have taught me so many things and without a doubt has me changed me as a person and a performer. I feel so blessed to have gotten to work with each and every single one of them and to have been picked to be apart of this incredible production. I want to give a major thank you to our fabulous production team and our incredible director @janeecefreemanclark1 . I could go on and on expressing my gratitude so for right now I’m just going to say thank you. thank you to this show for giving me new best friends and for making me appreciate and cherish every moment before it’s too late

Shoutout to @davidheguydesign for these incredible pictures

I don’t even know how to put these past four weeks into words.

When I came to NY for this camp I expected to come back with more knowledge and experience as a performer, which I definitely did. But what I didn’t process was how much the lord was going to lead me and my brain to experience things outside of my comfort zone and become a better person overall.

Somewhere between the busy days and trying to do everything perfectly, I learned that it’s okay to slow down. To breathe. To get a snack. To seek your joy instead of waiting for it to find you. To choose love every single day, for the people around you, for yourself, and for the art you’re creating. Those little reminders ended up meaning just as much as anything I will ever learn in this industry.

One of the biggest things I learned is that my worth isn’t based on how well I danced, how many corrections I got, whether people noticed me, or how successful I felt that day. But instead it’s about creating your own art and not giving your art and your creativity to ANYONE but you. I learned to stop comparing myself to others but to realize that what I bring to the table is just as valuable as what others do.

This summer also re-sparked a love for what I do that I didn’t even know I needed. It reminded me how special it is to be doing what I love which hundreds of others that are striving for the same goal. It showed me how theater brings people together that all care and support each other. I remembered that this is where I feel the most alive and I know that this passion was placed in my heart for a reason.

Thank you to all the teachers and students at IAMT for making this summer the most memorable one ever. Thank you for all being so supportive and encouraging!
Thank You, Lord, for meeting me in these past four weeks and teaching me so much more than I ever expected. Thank You for reminding me to trust You, to find joy in the little moments, and to simply be present. I know You brought me here for a reason, and I’m leaving with a deeper love for the gifts You’ve given me and so much excitement to see where You’ll lead me next.
