🏋️‍♂️

Squats are one of my favorite exercises, but here’s the thing… 👇

If your ankles are stiff, your hips are restricted, or your posterior chain isn’t moving well, you might not be getting the most out of your squat! 🦵

🔹Downward Dog Calf Pedals
🔹 Kickstand Squat
🔹 Squat to Stand
🔹 90/90 Heel Taps
🔹 Squat with Overhead Reach

💵The goal isn’t just to just lift heavy It’s to move WELL

📌 SAVE this for your next leg day and give your squat some love!

At least not always ☝️☝️☝️

Sure, rehabbing from back pain includes ‘core’ work.

But, not simply planks & crunches ❌❌❌

Multi-directional load.

Hip strength

Adductor control in most cases.

Single leg force production & absorption.

🔁 Then re-exposure to previously painful movements.

Here’s a snap shot of some early movements we used to continue training

& appropriately address the shit actually leading to this athletes’ back pain 👊👊👊

Your next move starts with how well you control the last one. 🛑

These band-assisted deceleration drills challenge the athlete to manage the band’s pull, absorb force, and control their planting position in different directions.

We’re focusing on:
✅ Loading through the hips, knees, and ankles
✅ Controlling the trunk over the planting leg
✅ Braking with purpose before pushing off again

For athletes, this is part of connecting strength in the gym to stopping and changing direction on the field or court.

As readiness improves, we progress the speed, angles, and unpredictability of the task.

Are you giving your brakes enough attention?

🌶️ Spicy Friday🌶️

Traditional mobility exercises are good but sometimes you need to add little spice🔥

These 3 variations challenge your mobility, control, and ability to move through different positions

🏋️ Kickstand Squat to Stand
🦶Staggered Downward Dog
🔄 Adductor T-Spine Rotation

💪 Build control and range of motion in different and new positions

She came in for shoulder pain—but we looked at how her whole body moved. 🥎

During her assessment, we identified hip and core strength deficits that may be contributing to the demands placed on her shoulder when throwing.

The legs, hips, and trunk help generate and transfer force. When that contribution is limited, the shoulder may have to work harder.

Her training now includes hip and core strengthening, stability work, and agility alongside shoulder rehab—building a stronger foundation for throwing and improving her overall athleticism. 💪

Treat the shoulder. Train the whole athlete.

Dry needling can offer several benefits for a scar.

Here, we apply dry needles to a scar for a right-handed pitcher who had right UCL reconstruction (Tommy John).

Benefits include:
• scar tissue remodeling (promotes better alignment of collagen fibers, and can make the tissue stronger and more flexible)

• improved range of motion (by addressing the scar tissue dry needling can help improve the range of motion)

• pain reduction (decreasing local inflammation and interrupting the pain cycle)

• enhanced autonomic nervous system regulation (promote autonomic nervous system homeostasis, which is crucial for overall healing and recovery. As a result, this will improve local circulation, nutrient delivery, and tissue healing)

• functional improvement (all the aforementioned reasons… Which will therefore improve throwing mechanics and reduce risk of reinjury)

Dry needling works best here as a part of a comprehensive rehab rehabilitation program that includes gradual progressive loading, mobility, and sports specific training.

Your lats called 📞

Here’s two row variations worth adding to your rotation:

→ Inverted row: builds pulling strength while challenging your core and full-body control against gravity
- bring chest to bar, squeeze mid back

→ Chest-supported dumbbell row: takes momentum out of the equation so you can really focus on the lats and upper back.
- core engaged, bring elbow to hip

Same movement pattern, different training stimulus.

Which one are you adding to your next pull day — 1 or 2? Drop it in the comments 👇

Your recovery shouldn’t be decided by someone who’s never met you. 🧠💪

In an insurance-based clinic, your plan of care often comes down to what’s “covered.” Limited visits. Pre-approved exercises. 10 minutes with your therapist while juggling three other patients. Paperwork drives the plan, not progress.

At a cash-based clinic, it’s different. Your treatment is built by a Doctor of Physical Therapy who actually evaluated you, not by an insurance company reading a code.

✅ Full one-on-one sessions
✅ Treatment based on YOUR goals, not visit caps
✅ Dry needling, BFR, return-to-sport programming, whatever you actually need
✅ No waiting on authorizations to start getting better

Whether you’re an athlete chasing your next season or just want to move without pain, you deserve care designed by a professional, not a policy.

That’s the Swift standard. ⚡
