For those of us who knew James, and know his heart, we've had an extra hard time dealing with his loss because of the mob judgement coming from people who only know him from a headline. We are seeing the saddest part of today's society up close. The Greek word for unconditional love is "agape," and to me there is no love if it is conditional. We never needed permission to love you, James- we still don't, you earned it. I have done things in my life I am not proud of and would not wish to be judged on the world stage for, and James does not have the luxury of defending himself or continuing to develop as a person. But I want you to know that "judge not lest you be judged," is real. If you are one of the mob justice commenters, I promise you, if you pay attention you'll see in time that your treatment of his family and friends now is nothing but an excuse to feel superior and there will be a spiritual consequence for it. There is no moral high ground in a tragedy, and if they had survived there would be no headline for you to project your unlived life on. But this is an opportunity for you to learn and grow, I hope that when you are in a similar position, people will have more grace for you and your loved ones. His family who has done nothing but create a safe community for families and enthusiasts to come together without incident for YEARS is already suffering immeasurably. How much do they need to suffer for you to be able to sleep at night? James helped me when I had conflict with someone in business and helped me see a different perspective. Funnily enough, he has done that for me again since passing. The way people defend him when he's not around I hope is some solace to the Wehr family and a testament to how many lives he truly touched. Thank you for everything you've done for your community and friends, and for everyone else please understand that a lifetime of good deeds can still be turned against you by people with an axe to grind. Don't live your life for people on the Internet, live it for those who know and love you for who you really are, because the mob is waiting for a crack in your armor to attack you at your lowest. RIP James and Lexi
