Still life painting now (proudly) on show at violin maker extraordinaire and musician Alastair Wood’s showroom workshop.

Imagine the combination of skills needed to make an instrument of such delicate requirements, every element showing perfect craftsmanship.

My painting tried to capture those skills to project a treat for the eyes, whilst Alastair concentrated on the ears!

Waves of high chroma!
Pushing those colour hues to the edge, inspired by the intense Cornish horizon and another fun commission - out the studio and onto their walls!

Sometimes you just gotta wipe your palette clean and start again.

There’s a rather perverse joy that comes from eliminating disgusting colour combinations and walking away, pretending you meant to do that, so you could more directly ‘connect’ with your inner creative influencer (not!).
