[PROOF OF LIFE]

First post in years, but these four went by too fast, so take in every moment and cherish it.

I came here scared and alone, unsure for the future. I changed my Major more than once, and even had second thoughts about this whole college thing. I’m so glad that I said “screw it” and answered that text from Cael.

This place saved me, I’ll say it again and again, and I’ll remember every moment for the rest of my life. Thank you Iowa State and Beta for getting me out of my comfort zone, helping me grow, and giving me the greatest friends anyone could ever ask for. Everyone I got to share this experience with, I love you guys. There are not enough words I can say to express my gratitude for this little town of Ames.

and the ones who kept him going

This might not mean anything to you, but when I came into school, I didn’t have any sort of plan. One thing I wish I could tell my freshman self is to start saying yes a lot sooner than I did. The people in these photos, along with some who unfortunately aren’t pictured, are the ones who pushed me to become who I am today. They make me, me.

Nothing means more to me than friends who reach out and show how much they enjoy spending time with you, whether it’s just a long walk and some fun conversation or making plans to travel across the world. I firmly believe that every single person in my life today has had an impact on who I’ve become. If you told me four years ago how much love I would have in my life today, I wouldn’t have believed you.

Don’t ever be afraid to tell someone you love them. “I love you,” “love ya,” or even just “love” at the end of a conversation can remind someone that they truly mean something to you.

With that being said, I love you guys, and I’m so thankful to have found friends so good that I can call them family.
