I’m not chasing some fantasy where I never work again. I want options. I want the ability to earn without automatically giving up another weekend, holiday or evening with my family. That’s the version of wealth I’m interested in building.

Comment “OPTIONS” if this is what you actually want too.

Healthcare mamas — these are not quirks.
They are red flags.

⚠️ Crying in your car before your shift isn't dedication. It's your nervous system warning you.

⚠️ Drinking dinner from a Stanley isn't efficiency. It's a body running on cortisol.

⚠️ Needing total silence after work isn't introversion. It's a regulation problem.

⚠️ Forgetting your kids' names mid-sentence isn't "mom brain." It's burnout brain.

⚠️ Saying "I'm fine" before you finish the question isn't politeness. It's autopilot.

If you read that list and felt seen — this is your sign.

The free Burnout Assessment in my bio will tell you where your severity level is right now in 3 minutes or less.

Which one flagged you down? 💛

This page exists because I needed it and it didn't. 👇

I know what it's like to be the nurse everyone counts on at work, at home, and every room you walk into, while quietly running on nothing.

I know what it's like to love nursing and resent it at the exact same time.

I know what it's like to have a dream you only let yourself think about in the car because in any other moment it feels too risky, too selfish, too late.

It's not too risky. It's not selfish. And it is not too late.

I'm Alyssa - RN turned Career Coach.
I've helped 100+ nurses stop surviving their careers
and start building lives they actually choose.

This page is your roadmap.

There are three major burnout patterns
I want you to notice.

✨️Take the FREE Burnout Assessment today.
You can find it in my link in bio ✨️

👉 The first is mental overload.

This is where perfectionism, self-criticism, people-pleasing, over-responsibility, and the belief that you should be able to handle everything better start eating away at your energy.

👉 The second is shift-work depletion.

This is when your body leaves work, but your mind and nervous system don’t. You stay activated. You replay the day. You struggle to recover. You feel exhausted but not restored.

👉 The third is emotional spillover.

This is when burnout follows you home. You feel irritable, numb, overstimulated, guilty, disconnected, or misunderstood by the people you love.

And what makes this so painful is that many nurses care deeply.

They are not disconnected because they don’t care.
They are disconnected because they are depleted.

If this sounds like you...

3 Things Every Nurse Should Know

Follow @official.lyssalou for real burnout recovery guidance.

👉 The first is a pre-shift reset.

Before work, take 60 seconds and ask:
What do I need to remember today?
Maybe it’s:
‘I will do what I can with what I have.’
Maybe it’s:
‘I do not need to be perfect to be effective.’
Maybe it’s:
‘I can care deeply without destroying myself.’

👉 The second is an in-shift micro-reset.

You do not need an ideal break room routine.
You need something realistic.

Try this:
unclench your jaw,
drop your shoulders,
take 3 slower breaths,
drink water,
and ask yourself:
What do I need in the next 5 minutes?

👉 The third is a post-shift decompression ritual.

Your shift ending does not mean your body got the message.

Create a transition:
one song,
one minute of silence,
one physical reset,
one intentional pause before stepping into home mode.

That small ritual can help reduce how much work follows you into your evening.

Because burnout costs more than energy...

It costs patience.
It costs confidence.
It costs closeness in relationships.
It costs your ability to be present.
It costs your ability to hear yourself clearly.

And one of the biggest mistakes nurses make is waiting until burnout is extreme before they get support.

You do not need to wait until everything is falling apart to take yourself seriously.

If this hit a little too close to home...

💗 Save this. Come back to it when you need
a quick reset.

The guilt of being an exhausted mom AND an exhausted nurse doesn't mean you're failing at both.
It means you've been choosing between two lives when you deserved a third option.

You're not failing as a nurse.
You're not failing as a mom.
You're failing in a system that was never designed
for you to win both. 👇

There's a version of this story nobody talks about.

It's not the nurse who dramatically quits
and moves to Bali.
It's the one who drives home in scrubs, sees her kids for 90 minutes before bedtime, tucks them in with guilt sitting heavy on her chest, and then opens her laptop to research whether there's something else she could do.

That's not weakness.

That's a woman who refuses to stop dreaming even when she's running on empty.

For years I told myself I had two choices:
Be a great nurse and sacrifice my family.
Or leave nursing and sacrifice everything I worked for.

Nobody told me there was a third option.

A life where your skills, your experience, and your time are finally working for you... not consuming you.

That option exists ✨️

I've helped 100+ nurses find it.
It doesn't start with a new job, but with a new decision about what you're willing to keep tolerating.
