In the past few weeks I’ve seen one million (1,000,000) friends, distributed seven (7) shooters of Malort to residents of Mamdanistan, and enjoyed two (2) Margaritavilles across this great nation of ours. Excited for two days at home before turning right around and leaving for tour!

A couple weeks ago I received my Master of Advanced Studies in Climate Science and Policy from Scripps Institution of Oceanography. While at Scripps I had the opportunity to present my masters capstone on indoor heat and environmental justice in San Diego County. I could not be more grateful to my friends, family, mentors and cohort for such an amazing year!

Last week, I had the privilege of attending the United Nations #COP30 in Belém, Brasil (Sen saina ma’åse to @scripps_ocean & the Republic of Palau). I’m deeply grateful for the chance to advocate for our ocean on a global stage. Throughout the conference, grassroots movements and local stewardship stood as the true testament of action in a world halted by fossil fuels. I stand with indigenous scholars whose existence represents resiliency against the climate crisis. To fellow Pasifika, may we continue to build lineages that centers people over capital. To the world, may we continue to not only decolonize these systems of extraction but also indigenize the solutions we champion.
