Not every luxury story starts where you think it does. This one semi started with the Devil Wears Prada & the Hermès scarf scene but you’ll need to read the full interview for more on that.

This week’s Carried Away is with S, @collectingorangeboxes, and her story is exactly why I started this series. Because sometimes the orange box isn’t about what’s inside.
 It’s about what it took to get there. From growing up on food stamps…to walking into Hermès and choosing something for herself for the first time—this is what a well-rounded collection really looks like. Not just pieces.

Some gifts arrive on time… others arrive fashionably late. And frankly, that’s far more my style. 🐎🧧 A set of Hermès red envelopes appearing after the Lunar New Year feels less like a delay and more like a quiet entrance; like someone slipping into the best table in the room just when the night is getting interesting. Luxury, after all, has never been in a rush. 😉

These came all the way from Boulder courtesy of my dangerously generous & fabulous friend @collectingorangeboxes, which feels appropriate because certain friendships are not measured in years… but in orange boxes. 🎁✨

So consider this a slightly late (but impeccably styled) thank you. 🧡 May your year be filled with even more orange boxes, beautiful pieces, and just enough indulgence to keep things interesting. Because if there’s one thing I’ve learned in luxury… the best things rarely arrive early. They arrive exactly when they’re meant to. 🤫
