WELL… THAT’S A WRAP. 🫡🔥

@vancitycardshow — October 2–4, 2026. 🇨🇦

Arguably one of the biggest shows in the nation, and easily one of the craziest weekends I’ve had since I started vending. 👨🏻‍🍳

Came out for the shiny cardboard and somehow left with even more connections, friendships, memories, and stories than cards. ✨

The craziest part?

I haven’t even completed my first full year of vending yet.

Less than a year ago, I was just getting started. Now I’m travelling to major shows, making deals I used to only see online, meeting collectors from all over the world, and watching JLCollects grow into something way bigger than I ever expected. 🌎

And somehow, we’ve already passed 500+ followers. 📈

That number might seem small to some, but to me it means 500+ people who decided to follow along, support the page, share the hobby, and be part of this journey.

I genuinely wouldn’t have been able to get this far without each and every one of you. 🫶

One of the biggest things I’ve learned from this hobby is that it’s never really just about the cards.

Of course, the pickups are cool, the deals are exciting, and chasing the next grail will always be part of it — but years from now, I probably won’t remember every card I bought or sold.

I’ll remember the people I met, the conversations at the tables, the friendships that came from a simple deal, the late nights talking cards, the laughs, the handshakes, and all the connections made along the way.

That’s what makes this hobby special.

To everyone who stopped by the table, bought something, sold me something, traded with me, introduced me to someone, shouted out the page, shared a post, grabbed food with me, talked cards for hours, or even just came over to say what’s up — you all know who you are.

Every handshake. Every deal. Every conversation. Every follow. Every connection. 🤝

I appreciate each and every one of you. ❤️

Vancity, you were absolutely unreal. 🌆🔥

JLCollects is just getting started.

Or should I say…

JLConnects.

Onto the next. 🚀

“A rising tide lifts all boats.”

If you’re truly about the Pokémon and TCG community, you’re part of my ride-or-die community.

I want to make sure the Calgary community and beyond supports the people I’ve gotten to know and support myself. I can only speak from my own interactions and dealings, so yeah — you can say I’m biased. But don’t just take my word for it. Check them out for yourself.

I’m simply highlighting people in this hobby who I feel are worth getting to know and supporting.

All three will be at CollectX this weekend, and I’ll be sharing more vendors I support on my stories.

If you stop by, tell them Purple Shadow sent you — not for recognition, but because I genuinely want to see if posts like this help the people I’m supporting.

Follow for more, and as always… see you at the next one. 💜
