Cowboys.
What started as a visual whim became a whole colony of thought about cowboys, masculinity, solitude, and America. Those thoughts continue in my mind today.

I wasn't able to use all the cowboys you sent me today but thank you so much and I will save them for the future.

PS I was trying to meditate this morning (I'm pretty trash at it-my pinball mind) and I thought of that scene in the film Brokeback Mountain where Heath Ledger's character Ennis visits the house of Jake Gyllenhaal's character, Jack, and goes through his closet quietly and puts Jack's shirt up to his face...

I don't cry often but then I zoomed out and saw myself and started laughing because it's funny meditating thinking about Brokeback Mountain to the point of tears.

Easy like Sunday morning.

I see the logic in the progression. I always wonder if it's visible, relatable, communicable this way. There are rhymes.

I made the last (slide 10) drawing last night. Today I'm thinking about this drawing and why it feels a little like flat soda.

I'm looking at it next to the drawing of the deer I made the day before yesterday and thinking about composition, darkness, mark-making, and where is the sense of self in one then the other.

I have thoughts.
