LONG LIVE IZAKAYA 🫰🏻

Dublin's nightlife is more than just clubs—it's culture, community and a place where artists, DJs, musicians and creatives come together

Too many independent venues and creative spaces are disappearing & 70% are gone since 2000s 🥲😤

If we don't stand up for them now, we'll lose what makes this city special

If you're free this evening, come down and show your support

📍 Dame Court 🕕 6:00 PM

Let's make it clear that Dublin's nightlife deserves to be protected

Shout to @neon.kollektiv @___blewit___

Huge thank you to the 8 of 12 Dublin Central candidates who showed up and took the time to listen to our concerns about the Government’s plans to change the role of SNAs and make cuts to these essential positions.

Special Needs Assistants are a vital part of our education system — not only in special schools and special classes, but right across mainstream schools, where so many children rely on their daily support to fully participate in education.

SNAs help children with additional needs with personal care, communication, emotional regulation, mobility, safety, and access to learning throughout the school day. Without this support, many children would struggle to stay in class, engage with their peers, or even attend a full school day.

For families, SNAs provide reassurance that their child is safe, included, and given the same opportunity to learn as every other child.

Any cuts to SNA numbers, or failures in proper deployment, will have serious consequences:
• Children could lose vital support
• Schools will come under greater pressure
• Teachers will be stretched beyond capacity
• Some students may face reduced hours, exclusion, or fall behind academically and socially

Investing in SNAs is not an extra cost — it is an investment in inclusion, equality, and every child’s right to education.

Our committee member Rachel spoke powerfully about her own personal experience of dealing with poor disability services, lengthy waiting lists, delayed assessments, and how reduced school hours affect not only children, but entire families.

She also spoke about how NIC Side by Side supports parents in the North Inner City, reflected on the experiences of our members, and highlighted just how important the education system is to so many families.

This is only the beginning. We will continue to campaign to ensure that no child in Ireland is left without these vital supports and resources.

Save our SNAs campaign wants to thank the candidates who came to our by-election meeting in Ballybough last night and signed our pledge.

We as a campaign are very disapointed Fine Gael candidate Ray McAdam refused to sign the pledge and left a rooom of over 100 parents and SNAs before questions could be asked of him.
