The Afters is also nominated for Best Fantastic & Beyond Short at FilmQuest this weekend. The talent of the incredible crew below who made it happen shows in every frame.

Jim Corr, pictured in the first photo, is very sadly no longer with us. I had only met Jim a couple times before spending time with him in the run up to and across our shoot. He was warm, kind and brilliant at what he did. His incredible experience made up for my lack of many, many times.

More importantly he made our set an extremely fun, warm and kind place to be whilst also making sure it ran professionally, smoothly and on time. No mean feat as anyone who makes films knows.

Most importantly he was so well loved by everyone who knew him and he is missed by many.

All photos above by my sister, the brilliant Tara Thomas @tarathomasfotos

This time last year myself, Lewis & Barry met in London to talk through the LEMONADE script. It’s hard to believe that a whole year has passed, so much has happened, so many magical moments and special people got involved. I’ve been so lucky. So now in October we’ll gather again in a lovely full circle moment for the BFI London film festival. Tickets go on sale Sept 17th. Hope to see you there 🍋
