What goes into assembling a Colnago Y1RS? Turns out it’s a lot of things. Some of the bits you see here are size-specific so I’ll only use one or a pair, but pretty much everything else gets jammed inside or bolted to the frame to make a working marvel of modern technology and aerodynamic efficiency.

Thank you to everyone who came out and rode the Y1RS at our demo! Whether you were chasing top speed or just curious what an aero race bike feels like, we loved having you.

A quick run-in with new world champion Brandon McNulty and a little behind the scenes with UAE.

This wasn’t on the original itinerary. About 12 hours prior, the opportunity to visit the team and deliver the bike came up, but we’d have to leave early and drive 3 hours from Tuscany to Bologna. It took me all of two seconds to commit.

The stars really aligned on this one. An American wins the world championship, he happens to be in Italy for a race the following week, and I just happen to be with Colnago the day they planned to deliver his Y1Rs with the world champion stripes. Pretty special to be there for it.

Brandon was really cool and super humble. He seems like a guy who’s full of gratitude for those around him. Just a genuinely good guy. We chatted briefly about riding in Southern California and, as it turns out, we have a mutual friend in none other than Mr. @charonlsmith himself.

Awesome day with a well-deserving world champion.

Real riders. Real impressions.

A few different perspectives on the Colnago Y1Rs after Velo Pasadena’s Colnago demo day.

From cornering to handling, here’s what the riders had to say.

Appreciate @velopasadena for bringing everyone together.

What’s your take on the Y1Rs?

Good bikes, good coffee, and conversations that always find their way back to bikes. ☕️🚴‍♂️
We spent the day riding Colnagos, talking shop, and doing what we love most — obsessing over two wheels with people who get it.
Big thanks to everyone who came out and made it a great day. And thanks to Colnago for being part of it.
Key takeaway: we LOVE the Y1RS !!!!
What’s your thoughts? Are you team V5RS or Y1RS?
