Returned from Taiwan with the @globalteahut family, heart full and quieter than before. Some pilgrimages don’t take you outward, they take you deeper in. Grateful for every bowl shared, every silence held, every leaf that knew exactly what it was doing. 🍵🌿

More soon. For now, just stillness with in the cyclone of motherhood 🌀

having some of @globalteahut inner resolve tea from ~2001-ish that @colorsofmytea shared with me and it’s another hit!

this tea is smooth and viscous, almost like a slimy vegetal gourd (in a good way, i promise! 🤣). it’s deep with a grounding bitterness that’s complex. there’s an earthy grit to it that somehow feels uplifting and energizing too. i can see why it’s called inner resolve 😌💪🏼 this tea is def one to sit with and let it take you on a ride. it feels like a deep, contemplative friend 🥹🍵🍂

honestly, it’s hard to describe since (1) i’m not even sure what kind of tea it is and (2) i haven’t had many teas like this. @colorsofmytea, is this another well-aged sheng puerh?? 🤓

anyway, just wanted to share a little calming moment (and some inner resolve) with you all to help wrap up the week! 💪🏼💕

had some @globalteahut’s forest path that @colorsofmytea kindly shared with me the other day! this is a sheng maocha (“unfinished” tea) aged since the 90s. it’s my very first time having maocha and it’s kind of blowing my mind..?

this maocha feels incredibly grounded. it’s the most grounded sheng i’ve ever had that it almost reminds me of shou puerh..? the tea initially tastes like melon rind, leaf litter, and a bit of mild bitter melon. the texture is smooth and slightly viscous, light syrup that you might find drizzled on top of a sweet tofu dessert. so easy to drink! 🍮🪾🍂

after 1 liter of tea (yes, 1 liter bc this tea keeps giving), the leaf litter lightens up and it tastes more like woody resins and the light syrup is more pronounced. i had no idea that a sheng could taste like this 🤯

also, i’m really feeling the nature vibes with my cholla-handle teapot. i know it’s a cactus but still feeling the deep druid forest vibes. and the aging history of the tea is reflected in crackles in the seasoned cup 🥰🍵🪵

thank you for sharing this amazing tea with me @colorsofmytea! excuse me while i continue to sip this tea into the night ☀️🌙

In case you weren’t already sold on getting the best green tea- 100% of proceeds (!!!) from each cup purchased until the end of June gives back to survivors of natural disasters and crises! I think that makes it taste better, don’t you? 🍵.
