when I was younger, my mom and dad took birthdays very seriously. A princess dress, a blow out, new jewelery (ofcourse), themed food, and 100 of our closest friends and family. I was born on the 1st of June, so every year it gets hotter, the trees turn red with my favorite Maadi flowers, and our house starts bustling with joy, emotions, tummy laughs, balloons, and ofcourse: cake. My grand parents would come over, with suitcases filled to the brim with gifts. My grandma’s always leaving me with a new life lesson: always match your shoes to your bag, invest in blazers, never leave the house without a perfect blowout.

As I grew older, the chaos relaxed. The kids screaming in our hallways quieted, the gifts got smaller, and my grandparents slowly retired to their homes. But that magical feeling never left me. Every year, on the first of june, I wake up feeling all the whimsy I felt as a child. I get long heartfelt messages from the same girls who used to terrorize my moms halls and jump on her vintage couches. The celebrations are quieter now, the Minnie Mouse balloons substituted by a huge pink bouquet from Floward from my mom and dad. It sounds melancholy, but the truth is its magical.
Why am I telling you all of this? Because the magic that you start with, that you’re born into, never really fades away. The memories stay with you forever, even if the reality looks different. That magic? Its within. And that same exact whimsy, romance, femininty, and wonder still lives within me - because of it, on the 5th of May 2019, I had the audacity to launch HRH. With 3 pieces only: our customizable pinkie ring, our nefertiti necklace, and our diamond drop ring. 3 pieces... and the rest is history (in the making hehe). Next week we turn 7, and I cant wait to show you how we plan on thanking you all.
This year, everything is going to change. This year, I tap into my WHIMSY.
