Last month, we made history with the first 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐌𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 event. This event was the predecessor to the 33rd Annual Conference and Festival of Blacks in Dance.

𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐲 highlighted Canadian dance artists of African descent not only in Canada but abroad as well. We had some phenomenal round table discussions, lecture demonstrations, a presenter showcase, and much more. Above all we had a chance to (re)connect and fellowship with eachother.

Thank you to all those who made 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐲 possible. There are no words to describe how grateful we are for all the knowledge, good energy, and love shared during this time. We are beyond thankful to our community for your constant love and support.

Because of you community, we are able to continue connecting through movement.🙏🏾

Giving thanks for the blessings that were poured out this past January at the International Conference and Festival of Blacks in Dance, hosted by @danceimmersion and @iabdinc! ❤️🔥

Six full days of collective conversations steeped in history, knowledge sharing, constructing, and change making ideas. A celebration that spoke life, birthed new considerations, and relationships. To my dance Immersion family, my years of working for you and with you continue to be an outpouring of fruitful blessings. Thank you for all that you do for community, and for holding me in love. 🙏🏾 Thank you to the IABD family for our precious moments of learning and sharing space together. Each year I spend with you, I leave with something more than I came with.🙏🏾

Thank you to all those that attended that I had the opportunity to speak with, learn from, share space with, hug, laugh with, and dance each night away with. May we continue to hold each other up in love, honor, and celebration!!🎉
