I hope you know you’ve never owed me trophies. I’ve never really cared about the letter grades on your report cards or test score percentages. Awards and recognitions are great, but I’ve seen all of those adjectives and accomplishments in you your whole life. All I’ve ever done is try to make sure that you worked hard enough to realize what you’re capable of… New states, new surroundings, new friends and new footsteps in new hallways. New teachers, different schedules, new teams, new coaches. It was never easy, but you made it. Everyone is going to tell you right now how proud they are of you. That’ll stop soon. In the very near future your worth in most people’s eyes will be a direct reflection of how you contribute to the world and to their life. They’ll judge you on decisions that you make without knowing the choices that you had. They’ll question your integrity without knowing you or your heart at all. They’ll envy you for having things or opportunities that they won’t have any clue how hard you worked for. Let them… Every single thing that you’ve accomplished up to this point, is a blessing from the same God that will continue to guide your path forever… You’re going to fail, that’s ok. You’ll get your heart broken, it heals. None of it is going to be easy anymore, but it’s all 100% worth it. Never quit, not ever. You’re capable of even more than you could ever imagine. I love you dude, and I couldn’t be more proud… #co2026 #graduation #lowercasejosh #themdangwalterboys #prouddad
