HYROX Pro Solo – Race 2 Recap

When I say I was beyond nervous for this one I mean it.
I saw one of my coaches in the warm-up area and he said, “Let the intensity come to you.” I held onto that.

I knew it was going to be hard, and I was excited for that.
But I couldn’t shake the fear that I was gonna be left behind.

Standing in the Red Bull tunnel, I started looking around at all the other girls who have already competed in this division several times. Self-doubt crept in fast. I honestly felt like I might cry.
The girl next to me gave me knuckles and said, “You got this, go & have fun!.”

When the timer went off, I didn’t want to go out hot, so I eased into the run, when I looked up from my watch, my eyes looked as if I was looking out of a small tunnel. I started checking in with myself Do I feel okay? Am I going to faint?
I knew my anxiety would settle if I just kept moving… so I did.

I saw the “IN” sign and knew I needed to pass it two more times, but my vision still felt off. When I passed it the second time, I looked over at the Ski Ergs, and my entire heat was already there.
My heart sank.

I instantly knew I missed what lap I was on.

My worst fear had officially become reality. I was going to race alone.

I sat down at the rower, and the girl next to me said, “You look strong.”
I told her I missed a lap. She laughed and said, “That’s okay you look good now.”

Then another girl I had just done burpees with ran up. I thanked her for pushing me, and she said, “You did the same for me.”

That’s when my second wind showed up.

From there, it became about pushing seeing how much ground I could make up, trying to catch back up to my heat. By the farmer’s carry, I was back with some of them. I decided to go for it.
I finished 29th out of 40 in my heat and honestly, that felt fun.

On the last run, my shoe came untied. Instead of panicking or pushing through, I stopped and tied it.

And that might be the moment I’m proudest of.

Being okay with things not being perfect.
Still moving forward anyway.
Lastly all the women supporting other women to win ✨
