Two years ago @coltmatocha and I went to a pop up carnival outside of Pinballz, I forgot I had all of this footage

I figured I'd just throw together a quick video for the overlords at VideoHell Corporation

Song is Music To Think Existentially To by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard

Shot on a JVC GR-SXM920U VHSC camcorder
this video is also on YouTube via VideoHell

And that’s a wrap for the CUP SHOW ✨

A big thank you to the artists that participated in our gallery’s first exhibit! Their vision and talent made it an incredible show. And thank you to all who came in to see the showcase and supported local art ❤️

We’ll be announcing our next exhibit soon, so stay tuned. Cheers to many more exhibits to come! 🥂

Cups that provide a different perspective 🫶

1) “Aspens in Autumn” and “Forest Flow” by @jessicahickman_creates
All of my art is inspired by atmosphere, movement, and feeling rather than the concrete. Working in acrylic on canvas, I create varying viscosities using water to explore fluidity, texture, and gesture, building each piece through a slow, deliberate layering process that unfolds over days and weeks. This approach reveals traces of each decision made along the way, honoring the quiet rhythm of creation.

2) “Epiphany 5” and “Epiphany 6” by Carol Acurso
My church hosts an annual Trifle party to celebrate the feast of the Epiphany. Since 2018 I have been shooting images of the desserts thru the crystal glassware, emphasizing their extravagance and star-like qualities.

3) “Gilded Echo” by @johnnie.r.vaughn
Early fascination with STEM gradually intertwined with a love for music, theater, and the arts - fields that, while seemingly different, share an underlying rhythm and search for harmony. Later, my experience in the military introduced me to a culture vastly different from the arts, but it deepened my appreciation for communication and understanding over conflict. Taken together, these experiences taught me that creativity and empathy aren’t separate from discipline and structure - they complement each other.

4) “Use the Goddamn China” by @aubrey.barnett_
This piece was inspired by how glassblowing and collecting can turn functional objects into status trophies. I bought a $350 Michael Shunke goblet, a form that sits at the top of the goblet hierarchy, and used it in a way that violates the expected reverence. Instead of wine or a staged “proper” still life, I filled it with cold SpaghettiOs and a spoon.

5) “Moderation” by @coltmatocha
Is a perspective piece which uses an optical illusion to convey it’s meaning. The glass is full, yet the shadow being cast is only possible if the glass were empty. This hints at the cycle of use for a glass. It transitions between full and empty endlessly. While it was also an intriguing technical challenge, it also is inspired by my relationship to sugar consumption.
