TOMORROW! Did y'all think I was holding out on you? Tomorrow at @columbiacitytheater on @rainieravenueradio.world TUA is airing it's season finale. Once there was an idea: create a show where some politicos who dig into nerdy fandoms and counterculture could have fun, shooting the shit, and talk about what they wanted to talk about. After dozens of interviews and shows now we're going to end the second season with the OG vision: some activists shooting the shit, talking about politics and fandoms. Tune in! Hear some hot takes and let's set this off right. Also, did you see the @thestrangerseattle 's endorsements?!?! Yeah, we're gonna talk about it. Tune in!

Hello Columbia City Family,

While organizing Night Market equipment today, I discovered three of our 8’x4’ beer garden barriers are missing—hard to miss, harder to walk off with. This isn’t isolated. Businesses along our corridor have been dealing with theft and vandalism, and it impacts all of us.

But we stand together.

The Night Market is going on.
Our business neighbors are going on.
This community is going on.

And to those choosing to harm what we’re building—you are not a part of this community, and you are not welcome in it.

To everyone else—stay aware, look out for one another, and stay engaged.

Our Community. Our Economy. Our Future.

Stay in Motion.

Night Market Family

Let’s Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of #BlackHistoryMonth! Throughout February in the #GreaterSeattleArea you can find Black History being honored and celebrated with events, lectures, and gatherings. Swipe through to see some events we think would resonate with our GSSL community. 💙 For more Black History Month events, organizations, and businesses you can support year-round check out: https://seattlemag.com/arts/festivals/black-history-month-in-seattle/
.
Did you know that Black History Month first started 100 years ago as Black History Week? In the 2nd week of February, 1926, Carter G. Woodson, launched the celebration of “Negro History Week,” which was quickly adopted by cities and states across the U.S. The next year in 1927, Washington State and Seattle began honoring Black History Week, sponsored by the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH). Carter G. Woodson, often called the “Father of Black History”, was an American historian, author, journalist, and the founder of the ASALH. Woodson chose this week in February as it coincides with the birthdays of Abraham Lincoln (Feb. 12th) and Frederick Douglass (Feb. 14th). Black History Week became hugely popular across the U.S. leading to the official designation of February as Black History Month in 1976.

LOVE, LUST, & LONGING
THURSDAY FEBRUARY 26TH
.
We’re moving a little different down here in the southend. It’s some really high emotions floating around and we thought instead of focusing on the ‘love’ we don’t have, we reflect on the love we do have. From our friends, our family, our partner, our communities.
.
Join us 5PM-9PM EVERY LAST THURSDAY for a collective exhale.
15+ businesses participating in a series of art installations, dining specials, and after parties.
Stay tuned for the February lineup.
