I knew there was something about Coach Dima. That’s why we invited him. He MUST be doing something right when some of the best athletes in the world keep going back to learn from him, and trust him again and again. Every person in the room levelled up yesterday. And let’s be honest, that’s what you expect from a seminar. You learn new techniques, you pick up new details, you’re expected to leave better than when you walked in. But with THIS seminar, the gym got better. Coach spent HOURS before and after the seminar helping us understand how we can improve, not just as athletes, but as coaches and as a team. We tried to soak up as much as we possibly could. Thank you Coach Dima. It was a genuine pleasure to have you on our mats and have you share your knowledge with us. Can’t wait until the next time we meet. ❤️

This week was brutal. New project. Hands-on work. Long hours. 3-hour commutes. 5-hour sleeps. By Friday, I felt completely drained. After work, I had a 30-minute window to shower and eat before taking my son to his BJJ class. Common sense was telling me, "Go home. Get some rest." Yet, just in case, I packed my gi... with very little hope of actually using it. After a coffee with twice my usual amount of sugar, I started thinking about the five days of training I'd already missed this week and decided to stay. After almost two hours of drilling and sparring, I felt anything but broken, overtrained, or tired in a bad way. In fact, both mentally and physically, I felt better than I had at any point during the entire week. Sometimes the best rest isn't lying on the sofa. It's doing something that clears your mind from an exhausting routine, challenges you physically and mentally, and reminds you why you keep showing up. As always, the hardest part isn't the training – it's making the decision to step onto the mats. 🥋 #BJJ #Consistency #KeepShowingUp #Discipline #UKBJJ

One Fall Can Change Everything Did you know? - 1 in 3 people over 65 will experience at least one fall each year. - Falls cost the NHS an estimated £2 billion annually. - Around 70,000 hip fractures occur every year, many caused by falls. - After a fall, confidence often takes a bigger hit than the body. Many people become less active, more isolated, and increasingly worried about falling again. The good news? Fear of falling doesn’t have to control your life. Finding Your Feet is a specially designed programme that helps older adults build confidence, improve balance, and learn practical skills to reduce the fear of falling. 📍 Delivered at Combat Base Wakefield 📧 Drop us a message or email combatbasewakefield@gmail.com 📞 +44 7927 645525 #FindingYourFeet #FallPrevention #ActiveAgeing #HealthyAgeing #wakefield

First BJJ competition done 🥇 Didn’t go anywhere near my fight plan 😁, still recovering and definitely felt it – but two close matches and gold at the end – couldn't be happier. Proud to represent @combatbasewakefield and grateful for all the support and great company from the Combatbase Wakefield team. Big thanks to @marc_t_bjjcoach and @emma.louise.t , now I know exactly what to work on 🤙
