A huge thank you to @combatinsaus & @playlikeagirlaustralia for bringing us together for such an incredible Judo and Taekwondo workshop🩵✨

Having practised Taekwondo for many years, it was exciting to step outside our comfort zones & try Judo for the first time.
It was also incredibly inspiring to learn from talented Judo and Taekwondo athletes and Olympians, hear about their journeys and see the dedication, discipline and passion behind competing at the highest level!

@playlikeagirlaustralia is such an important initiative, encouraging more women and girls to get involved in sport, challenge stereotypes and feel confident stepping outside their comfort zones.

As an osteopath, I love seeing initiatives that promote movement, wellbeing and confidence while creating inclusive spaces for women to learn, connect and support one another.

🚨 TW some extremely average judo/taekwondo skills performed by me 🥋
In all seriousness take this as your sign to try something new!
Big thanks to @shymertkd and @playlikeagirlaustralia for putting on such a fun and welcoming event!

Judo is not just a sport, it’s a philosophy!

What a fun way to explore philosophy 😉

History in the making 🔥 The first workshop of its kind.

A partnership between Olympian @judoaus , @aus_taekwondo, @combatinsaus and @playlikeagirlaustralia with wrestling and boxing champions in the room too.

Hardworking, dedicated, and relentless these women showed exactly what it takes to reach elite level. Nothing handed everything earned 🖤

Zero ego all heart. Proud to be in the room. 🥋 @shymertkd @tinkaeaston @m.swan @eef_coughlan @alannah__joyce @ryley_rametta @vickychhen @maevecough_lan @safftamby @reba.st #playlikeagirl #womenincombatsports #olympian #fypシ #fight101hq

Sometimes you find your path, sometimes it finds you.

I saw an ad on instagram about this Combat Women’s workshop few weeks ago and I thought why not go and see. Today I attended the workshop and l met many amazing women from various combat sports. I was moved by the kindness of the professional athletes who offered their support to teach us Judo and Taekwondo in a fun and welcoming environment.

This experience also reminded me how much I enjoy combat sports and that I should pursue this more seriously.

This was the first workshop. I hope to attend many more in future. Thank you to @playlikeagirlaustralia and @combatinsaus for organising this event and providing an opportunity for women of all backgrounds to explore this space.

World Championships 2026 ➡️ 2017

Nearly a decade of memories in between: crowds, COVID, tears, screams (happy and angry) — moments to carry for life.

Still a few chapters left to write. Olympic qualifying continues in two weeks. 💭
