The one we’ve been waiting for.
The Gems at The Gem.
Why, do you ask, has this not already happened?
Truth is, over the years we’ve talked about it several times, but life got in the way.
So finally - it’s happening!
Time to SAVE THE DATE!

The Gems are super excited to be putting on a Friday night show on 23rd May at THE GEM in Collingwood with their mighty good lookin’ friends Comedy.
Get your fix of catchy, old school, power pop, guitars, jangles, harmonies and possibly definitely some entertaining stage moves.
More details to come.
You know you can’t miss this! Come and rock with us!

Handshakes and hugs to all the fine folk who joined us to celebrate record stores yesterday - and to truly celebrate the local creators who offer up such moving and edifying art.

Big thanks to @battsmusic @bec.sykes @comedy__band @cliorenner @private.mountain and @dj_davice for their talent, time and impeccable grace.

Bow down to @jakesully_2009 for his sumptuous skills with the sonics and his calm demeanour (and to Tom and @emogirl6666 for all their assistance), to @_jayjaybless_ for the smiles and these images, and to @mission_show for the morale boosting presence and humour.

Thanks also to @recordstoredayaustralia @3rrrfm @pbsfm @doubledutchbakery and 🫵

Happy Record Store Day, Rocksteady Crew!

Thiis fine human is Tom. As well as being a composed counter cat, website sheriiff and sensitively skilled sound engineer, Tom is also the singer/lyricist in Private Mountain.

Private Mountain will be performing at Rocksteady this afternoon and they’ll be in excellent company:

10:30 AM @battsmusic (Solo)
11:30 AM @bec.sykes
12:30 PM @comedy__band
1:30 PM @cliorenner (Solo)
2:30 PM @private.mountain

@dj_davice will be on the decks between sets, we have a fiendishly curated collection of RSD releases (the kind of things we would normally stock) and heaps of local releases we love.

Grab a coffee from @marketlane at the entrance to Mitchell House and we’ll see you here for the super sounds.
