POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

✨ The SheroCon 2026 interviews continue, and this time we’re hanging with the Comadres! 💜📚

Sara Bazan and Kristen Parraz of Comadres y Comics @comadresycomics joined us in the Shero Alley to tell us all about their podcast and their mission to spotlight comics featuring characters of color.

And these aren’t just great stories. Many of the books they review and sell also sneak in a history lesson or two while you’re reading. Comics AND history?! 🤓📚 How geeky of them…and you know we LOVE IT!

🎥 Check out our interview with Sara and Kristen, then be sure to follow Comadres y Comics and all of the incredible Sheros we’ve been featuring from SheroCon 2026.

This SheroCon Universe of creators deserves your attention, so show these women some love, follow their work, buy their books, listen to their podcasts, and support what they’re building. 💜

And while you’re at it, make sure you’re following Shero Comics too. 👀 We’ve got some REALLY big announcements coming up, and trust us…you’re going to want to be here for what’s next. 🪄✨

🍹🧅📖 After attending WCC yesterday morning, I made my way over to @newtonville_books for the first time to attend @nilecreatescomix's first ever bookstore conversation on his first ever adult Graphic Novel "Drunk Onion"!🥳 A frequently featured comic creator at cons such as @fanexpoboston and @comicsncolor, he is best known in the comic book scene for his "Bad Cop vs Good Cop" series, in which he and Calvin Hennick worked on it together back in the early 2020's. I, along with the rest of the BCC, are extremely proud of how far he's come! Annnd..first bookstore event calls for first first Chocolate Babka and Boston Creme Babka box from @bakeybabka! 📖🧅🍹

🎹 (Yep, this is Billy Joel music I picked out for the audio! Reason? Find out in the Graphic Novel!)🎹

✨ We’re still riding the creative wave from this year’s Boston Comics in Color Festival! ✨
One of our favorite annual traditions, this event brings together an inspiring mix of artists, families, and storytellers—and this year was no exception.

At sparc!’s station, participants of all ages dove into our creative workshops: superhero mask-making and superhero clay sculpting. Watching people channel their creativity into bold, imaginative characters was a sight to behold!
From vibrant patterns and symbolic details to wild gestures and unexpected (and often hilarious!) combinations, each superhero told a story all its own.

We especially loved hearing the backstories behind each creation—proof that creativity and storytelling go hand in hand. 💥

Huge thanks to @comicsncolor for creating such a joyful, inclusive space for art, culture, and community. We’re already looking forward to next year! 🎉 Two people work on an art project together, one looks down at the project, the other smiles at the camera

At @comicsncolor, our collective imagination is celebrated and representation for everyone is on display.

“Diverse storytelling is good for everyone,” co-founder Cagen Luse told us. “The more we can foster different people telling their stories, it fosters our understanding of one another.”

@global.auzzy captured the energy and beauty of the festival. 🖤🌱
