Madison Worker Cooperatives (MadWorC) wants to support our community in a way that aligns with our values - specifically Cooperation & Integrity, Democracy & Transparency, and Justice. Our community has been directly impacted by the shooting of Corey Ruiz on Williamson Street on July 22nd. In solidarity with all affected by the shooting and in an effort to mitigate the financial impact on workers in the neighborhood, we have started the Willy Street Impacted Workers Fund.

Funds raised will go directly to employees impacted by lost wages in the immediate area of the shooting.

Visit @madworc_’s stories for more info or reach out to them directly.

Guidelines

•Funds are for employees only - not available to owners.
•Fund is for employees in the immediately impacted area within a roughly one block radius of the shooting.
•There is a maximum of $500 per person per round of funding.
•Lost wages must be verified.
•Funds will be dispersed via check and must be mailed within the immediate Madison area or can be picked up at the Social Justice Center at 1202 Williamson Street.
•Funds will be dispersed on a first come first serve basis. Depending on funds available, we may do multiple rounds of funding for workers impacted by loss of wages. Funds will be available no sooner than August 15th.

If you have any questions or fall outside these guidelines but would like to request to apply, please contact PJ at coordinator@madworc.coop. Impacted businesses seeking funds should contact @williamsonmarquettebusinessall.

On behalf of the Wisconsin LGBTQ History Project and our Board of Directors, we proudly recognize Juneteenth as a powerful reminder of the enduring pursuit of freedom, dignity, and civil rights.

As we also celebrate Pride Month, we acknowledge the meaningful intersection of these observances, particularly for Black LGBTQ individuals whose experiences reflect both the progress achieved and the work that remains.

Today, we honor resilience, celebrate the richness of diverse voices and histories, and reaffirm our commitment to advancing equality, justice, and human rights for all. Together, we continue building a more inclusive and equitable future.

Wheels was founded in 1992, to refurbish used bikes to keep them out of landfills and encourage giving back to the community. We provide these bikes to people who do 10 or more hours of volunteer service.

New Volunteer Wrenchers - First Bikes
They increase our inventory of refurbished bikes for our busy season.

We train all our volunteer mechanics how to refurbish a bike from bottom to top, starting with smaller bikes. We want every bike refurbished correctly. And our most experienced mechanics do a quality control check on the entire bike to make sure it is done right and is safe!

✅Last Tuesday during The Big Share, our community came together to raise $2,338 for ECCHO.
💗That support helps fuel something bigger than a single day of giving.

♻️Through ECCHO’s leadership cohorts, community members are building projects that strengthen civic health: organizing neighbors, addressing local challenges, and creating solutions rooted in lived experience.💚

💗Thank you to everyone who donated, shared, and supported this work. Your investment helps grow civic health and community power across Wisconsin.💜
💚 You can still support ECCHO:
