“Owl we need is love” 🫶🏼
I don’t know why, but to me, spotting an owl 🦉 is like winning a lottery. It happens but not as often as one wishes it would. I still can’t believe I crossed paths with this majestic creature within 50 meters of entrance of @thecumberlandforest . It was a very brief connection, enough to capture one photo and a short video (posted as reel few days ago). I know 35mm isn’t ideal focal range for bird photography, but I had no intention of photographing birds that day, so that’s all I had on me. Here’s the shot 📷
I’m still in such aw, and really wanted to share it! 🦉♥️

What an honour to have one of my @thecumberlandforest photos featured in @cvlandtrust 2025 conservation calendar 🙏
I’ve called Cumberland my home for over a decade, and this is so exciting for me. I truly do care about our local forests and how much work goes into protecting it. These calendars will be available to be purchased online soon, in the meantime a copy can be picked up at @edibleislandwholefoodsmarket in Courtenay. Makes a great Christmas gift!
I am thrilled I am able to contribute one way or another to both, Cumberland Forest and CV Land trust, as they do such wonderful things for our communities! Thanks to all the people behind the scenes who put so much work and effort to keep the trees standing💚🌲
