Spontaneous adventures to new places on Vancouver Island with your friends can still be a lot of fun!

As a planner by nature, I do find I like to plan, plan, plan. Typically have things all figured out and have or need the answers. I have been this way my whole life. In recent years, I’ve learned the value of finding more balance, saying yes to more of the unknown even when it can feel daunting or scary. So in this chapter, I’m saying yes to more of things that bring joy, taking time to recharge as needed, finding balance and working on more spontaneity as it fits.

If you’ve done something spontaneous lately, what was it? How did it make you feel?

Follow along for more adventures and inspiration!

More important details 👇

This hike is only open to public access on the weekends (unless you do a very long strenuous hike from the CPR trail 😅). This is because its off of active logging roads which are gated to the public during the week. Always double check gate times on the Mosaic website as sometimes they will close the gates on the weekends if there's fire risks.

As mentioned in the video there are multiple trails to access Mt. Cokely & Jewel lake. A simple look on @alltrails will show you all of the routes. I recommend downloading an offline map as cell service is spotty.

The road up requires at least some decent clearance to make it to the trailhead. I wouldn't bring a sedan on the last few km up the road, unless you don't care about your car.

If you're not comfortable with scrambling definitely don't do this hike. This isn't a beginner hike.

Lastly theres no services here like no outhouses, no garbages. So please pack out what you packed in and leave no trace. Let's keep these trails in good conditions.

I hope to do Mt. Arrowsmith here next! Another challenging hike!

Would you do this hike?
