We can’t wait to welcome back Alan Rashid to the Austin Studio Tour! They’ll be playing two sets this year. The first one is on the first day, Sat., Nov. 14 at 3 PM. Come check them out, and thank you @alanrashidmusic for playing our stop!

Alan Rashid has been writing and recording his folk rock sound since the late 90’s and drew inspiration from the works of James Taylor, Neil Young, Paul Simon, and others in that era. His latest EP, Lifted, is a family collaboration with Luke on drums, Gillian on keys, and as always, Jennifer singing great harmonies.

@austinartistsagainstice Fascism is on the rise, we can see it everywhere and people are still denying that this is happening. ICE is brutalizing our communities and killing civilians. The time to act is now. Get involved. Mobilize. Protest. Be kind. Build community. Protect each other. 📸 @julzy.jpeg

Austin, Texas-based DIY label Diverse Chorus Records announces a new split EP that should satisfy any ‘90s nostalgia cravings. The full EP drops in October 2026. Compilations is a melodic pop punk band from Austin, Texas, that draws on influences from ‘90s punk, emo and indie rock for fans of Texas is the Reason, Gameface, and Samiam. As We Shiver is a melodic post hardcore band that is suitable for fans of Quicksand, Narrow Head, and Deftones.

The history between the members of both bands extends back about 30 years to thriving punk scenes in Austin and Houston. Family is really the best way to describe this relationship, both literally, and figuratively. Both Compilations and As We Shiver have a father and son component, and AWS has two sets of brothers, father & sons, uncle & nephews...a serious family affair. Working together on this split release was a no-brainer and long overdue.

The physical release is availabe on vinyl in plum pomegranate, as well as CDs...yes, CDs are back in a big way people! What will you do when the internet fails? Fall back on your physical media! You can pick up your copy at Waterloo Records in Austin or on the Diverse Chorus Records Bandcamp page.

EP release shows are planned in Austin on Friday October 9 at Chess Club and Saturday, October 10, in Houston at 1810 Ojeman. Support local music and independent artists!
