@mofxau metaphorically flies to the Moshpit Bar with high energy riffs and strong enthusiasm for a very tight performance with passion. The distortion in the guitar riffs plus guitar solos with fluid/substance, along with energetic bass work, consistent tempo in the drumwork (by Justin) and energy in the vocals are perfect for headbanging and stamping my feet along.

In terms of technical aspects of the set, the four projects 78-81 decibels (SPL) of sound into the room across instrumentation and vocals. At first lighting is monochromatic red in the first 2 songs, then monochromatic blue is programmed until near the end of the set where lighting reverts back to monochromatic red again to convey just how great the energy is showcased on stage. Glenn growling also compliments with the monochromatic red in the LED par cans on the ceiling which hints Magpies On Fire might get heavier from here.

Magpies On Fire are versatile with the hard rock, some heavy metal, some punk rock, post grunge and alt rock which is a variety in tempo and texture. Mitch has multiple moments of jumping which further brings the energy on a late Sun arvo. Typically he'd run around the venue but this time besides sitting on the edge of the stage, he stayed on stage consistently this time which shows he's very professionally composed.

Thus Glen and Mitch would lightly mini-mosh on stage but this quickly calmed down which highlights the chemistry of the two having fun on stage. Also Mitch would walk up to Adrian, standing in close proximity as the latter calmly shreds away. Glen also patted Mitch sometimes which shows he's kind in professional ways. Additionally Glen got to wear a magician hat in one of the songs later in the set which made him look like a wizard.

Over the course of 35 minutes, they play a series of songs which not only raises adrenaline but also to convey the feeling of being out on a Fri/Sat night, albeit in a Sunday arvo. A set I enjoyed which got me in the ideal mood for headbanging
