The car speakers weren’t loud enough, so I went on a little side quest.🤍

First couple runs of the Hudson Westbrook Hits Me Tour are in the books. Super blessed to be able to drive this awesome rig.

Seeing how people react to and enjoy good lighting has been so cool to watch. It’s brought a whole new meaning to me for what it means when the Bible talks about light. Light is something we often take for granted in the modern world.

I feel like the invention of the lightbulb dulled out our understanding of what the scriptures say in John 1:4-5 when it says “In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”

Despite all the lightbulbs, all the power to run it, and all the infrastructure we’ve spent to keep the nighttime lit. It doesn’t change the fact that we live in a spiritually dark world. Wars are ongoing, stealing and rioting are at all times highs, life is stressful and scary. Unfortunately, because of sin we are born with hearts that are dark. Our souls are like the arenas and venues that need lighting.

In John chapter 8 verse 12, Jesus is talking to some religious leaders of the time and tells them “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

I’m so thankful that God gave us spiritual light through Jesus, and that he gave us the gift, the gift of light for us to be able to understand it.

Hearing the feedback about the show, and getting compliments has been super nice… But the most rewarding moments of these shows is creating a beautiful picture on the stage and providing light to a dark space. The joy it brings me to see the spaces light up at the start of shows is amazing. I feel like i’m getting a small glimpse at how Jesus feels every time another person allows him to light their darkness.

These past couple weeks I’ve set out to explore how I could make the most impactful light show to support Hudson Westbrook’s music. But what I’ve found in all of it is that God provides a better light than I ever could.
