Huge thank you to our parents for decor and goodies, Aim Dance Studio for hosting us, Just Live Hydration for keeping us hydrated, Salty Blonde Media for capturing every moment and our awesome coaches! Beyond excited to be one of four student choreographers sharing work this upcoming weekend. Thank you @csulbdance for constantly challenging me in new ways as an artist and allowing me space to share parts of myself that I hold very close to my heart. The piece I have created is extremely close to home for me. As a multicultural individual that identifies as Hawaiian, I’ve been able to explore how Polynesian dance and Modern dance can intertwine and collaborate together, while still paying respects to organic and traditional Polynesian movement. With Polynesian dance being my first style learnt and Modern being a form that I utilize greatly now, I feel immense gratitude for this creation titled Hapa(a common term in Hawaii that translates to half.) Biggest thank you to my cast, my mentor @danzeltss , the production crew, costuming crew, and absolutely every human involved with this process. I simply cannot contain my excitement for this upcoming weekend. Show dates will be OCT 13-15th, with performances on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night, as well as a matinee Saturday morning. Ticket link is in my bio! If you are unable to attend in person, I invite you to tune in via livestream❤️ Mahalo nui loa, I am truly truly ecstatic🫀
