confectdissect Design Studio · Zurich, Switzerland Confectdissect is a design studio based in Zurich. The name reflects the studio’s approach of taking ideas apart and putting different elements together. The results are “test products” that can take different forms, from an object or a set to a film or a book. The designs are mostly functional and can be used, but they are not treated as final products. Each one is part of an ongoing process and can lead to a new idea or a different direction. We use each prototype to develop the next one. This keeps the work open to change and allows us to continue testing and developing new ideas. Presented as part of Dislocated Utility: Objects out of Place. Curated by Natascha Madeiski & Paulina Reséndiz Opening 17 September, 18:00 Stay tuned at: www.objectsoutofplace.com Dislocated Utility: Objects out of Place 17 — 27 September 2026 Waschraum — Former SBB Facility, Zurich, Switzerland #DislocatedUtility #ObjectsOutOfPlace #ZurichDesignWeeks #ZDW

Basalto Collective is pleased to announce “Extended Matter,” an exhibition presented at Anthracite Art & Design in Zurich. Through a constellation of works by designers based in Mexico and Switzerland, “Extended Matter” examines how makers engage with craft and materiality to create forms rooted in tradition yet forward-looking in intent. Each piece carries a layered story—linking heritage knowledge with contemporary practice. In dialogue with @_anthracite_art_’s curatorial framework “Land Escapes,” the exhibition offers audiences complementary perspectives on landscape, materiality, and contemporary practice. Featuring works by:
Alejandra Perini @alejandra.perini Ayres @ayres.mx Comité de Proyectos @cpmx Federico Stefanovich @federico.stefanovich José Bermúdez @studiobermudez Juri Roemmel @jroemmel Kevin Dizami @kedizami Peca @peca_studio Noelani Ruiz @noelanirutz Sebastián Ángeles @sebastianangelesg Siete Studio @sietestudio_ Studio Eidola @studioeidola Studio H. Fernández @studio_h.fernandez As part of @zurichdesignweeks 2025, Basalto Collective teamed up with @distigmo to celebrate the launch of the independent editorial platform, hosting on Thursday the official debut of its inaugural issue, “Trial and Error.” “Trial and Error” explores creativity through experimentation, mistakes, and evolving ideas. True to its process, the independent magazine follows an open, nonlinear approach, featuring essays, sketches, and photographs from 43 contributors. Together, DISTIGMO and Basalto Collective invite audiences to see design not as a final product, but as a living dialogue where ideas, techniques, and identities continuously shift. Thank you for joining us on Thursday and for making this such an incredible event!
Visit us today from 11 AM to 6 PM at Anthracite Art & Design, Angererstrasse 6, 8002 Zurich. From Monday, September 14 the exhibition will be open only by appointment (via email or message). We look forward to seeing you here! #basaltocollective #zurichdesignweeks #distigmo #extendedmatter Photo Credits: @kate_hov @basalto.collective

SUSPICIOUS OBJECTS — a collaboration with @fuse.zurich back in June. Some objects don’t fully conform. They borrow familiar forms — then shift. Gestures and materials collide, sometimes pointing toward function, other times toward fiction. Suspicious Objects brought together designers, artists, and architects whose works resist fixed roles — responding to the ambiguity of contemporary use, the overflow of material life, and a refusal to play by the usual categories. 📷 @ooli.k
