Swan na Short Box 🦢 Reformer Intermediário / Avançado 🇺🇸 Why is the Swan on the Short Box considered an intermediate/advanced exercise? The smaller base of support already changes the challenge: compared to the Long Box, the Short Box gives the body less surface to rely on and organize around. Add an open-chain upper body — no hands supporting you on the Reformer — and the exercise requires a much higher level of core control, spinal organization and body awareness. Then comes the coordination: maintaining control and stability while combining spinal extension with leg extension, without simply “throwing” the body into the movement. This is why progression matters in Pilates. ✨ It’s not just about being able to perform an exercise — it’s about developing the control, strength and awareness to perform it well.
