Our next selection for the Ammerman Center Symposium is "Carasoul" by Kaeti MacNeil.

Carasoul is an animated surrealist 4K film which depicts temporal, immaterial sensations and perceptions as spatially material extensions of the body. This vision of invisible dimensions within a human experience is grounded in biological and biographical forms.
This work is for feeling thoughts around you like waves and forms, invisible yet tangible. It’s the imagination, the mind’s eye, the visuospatial sketchpad of the psyche surrounding the body.

The video will be shown in Cummings Art Gallery during the symposium. We hope everyone will check it out!

Our next selection for the Ammerman Center Symposium is "Sentiment Voice" by Semi Ryu.

Sentiment Voice is a live VR performance that utilizes emotion-tracking AI technology to amplify the narratives of immigrant populations. Inspired by the pervasive use of emotional surveillance and the vulnerabilities surround in emotion data and cybersecurity issues,
Sentiment Voice subverts emotion AI technology, typically used for surveillance or commercial purposes, into an empathetic mediator for actively listening to the stories of immigrants.

The performance will be at Tansill Theater on March 28th at 8pm. We hope to see everyone there!

Our next selection for the Ammerman Symposium is "Synthetics Color Flood" by Gali Greenspan.

Synthetics Color Flood is a collection of large-scale dye-sublimation prints on synthetic carpets, installed floor-to-ceiling according to specific space dynamics and optional XY pen plotter drawings. To make the carpets, moving image frames were recorded with analog video synthesizers, then digitized and passed through multiple software environments.

The exhibition will be held in Cummings Art Gallery during the Symposium. We hope everyone will check it out!

Our next selection for the Ammerman Symposium is "Everyday Infrasound in an Uncertain World" by Brian House.

Making infrasound audible and comprising wind-noise reduction arrays leading to microbarometers and using custom signal processing, House appropriated the basic technique from what the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty Organization uses to detect distant warhead tests. In
this case, however, we’re listening to a planet in transition. Unlike with a scientific endeavor, it’s not a matter of extending the horizon of human knowledge. Instead, it’s about encountering agencies greater than our own that connect us through the atmosphere, an experience that is both poetic and political.

House will be giving a talk regarding his work in Oliva on March 27th at 3pm. We hope everyone can join us!
