Praying for and thinking about our people at @connect_cp Avon this morning.

In His wisdom, God knew that His people needed to gather together consistently. Not simply to hear His Word. We can do that online. But to encourage one another to actually live it out.

Because there are some things we can receive online, but there are things God designed us to experience together.

So wherever you are today, if you’re near a local church, show up. Not just for what God might have for you, but for what He might want to do through you in someone else’s life.

“Don’t give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing. Instead, continue encouraging one another toward love and good deeds.” — Hebrews 10:24–25 (paraphrased)

ONE Event started like this… 6 years ago, in a parking lot, on a unusually warm November evening, with a hundred students, led by 2 student pastors who barely knew each other or what they were doing.

We wrapped up that ONE Event flying by the seat of our pants, made up the ending in the moment, rallied the students in front of us, and told them that the best days of Connection Pointe Student Ministry were ahead of us and we were just getting started.

I don’t think @sean_mccoolskey and I had any clue what the next 6 years would bring or if the best days were actually ahead of us, but it’s safe to say God has been exceedingly good.

ONE Event has told the Gospel through wrestling, a night in the “big city”, basketball games, time-traveling lip-sync performances, late-night variety shows, and now through a medieval tournament.

The event has grown in so many ways over the years… in attendance, in complexity, in excellence, etc. but one thing hasn’t changed, a desire to tell the Gospel to students in ways it’s never been done before. And now, this team of two has grown to a team of 11 people contributing to making @connect_cp’s vision to Raise the Strongest Generation a reality.

Over the last few weeks, as I’ve reflected on ONE Event 2026, I have repeatedly said, “Our student team is so incredibly talented!” And I mean that with every fiber of my being.

People see that talent through events like this, but I get to see so much more. I see their love for the Lord. I hear their prayers for the Next Generation. I see the late nights and early mornings spent away from families and loved ones. I know their “why,” and it’s Jesus. Jesus reaching Gen Z and Gen Alpha in a way we have never seen before.

The @connectionpointe.students team is The Best There Is

I pray that days like these never become rare or ordinary.

We said it in 2020 and I’ll say it again, “The best days for Connection Pointe Student Ministry are still ahead of us.”

We’re just getting started.

After 12 long months without water following the breakdown of their community well, the people of Olenchokoine (Kenya) are finally celebrating the return of water and a new lease on life!

During their mission trip to the Maasai in April, our team witnessed firsthand the community’s water crisis. Thanks to the generosity of our church body, we were able to provide funds to repair and overhaul the broken well.

Today, the well is fixed and operational again!

Over the weekend, almost the entire village gathered under the scorching sun, waiting, hoping and praying for water. When the first flow finally appeared, people rushed forward, cupping their hands to drink directly from the water.

This well will satisfy a very real physical thirst, but it also reminds us of Jesus, the Living Water. May every person who comes here thirsty for clean water know the One who satisfies the deepest thirst of the soul.

After years of praying, planning and ongoing sacrifices from so many…..
The walls are going up for Connection Pointe Avon’s permanent building.

A congregation that has grown from a few dozen to 600 ….. will now have a permanent home

So more people can be helped and transformed with the Good News of Jesus.

A huge thank you
to each of you who are
giving sacrificially,
serving faithfully,
praying passionately —

to see Christ’s Kingdom reach more and more souls in Avon.

Pray that the finished building opens on schedule in late 2027.

If you live near Avon, South-WestBrownsburg or Danville, you can begin worshipping with this amazing group of believers now.

They’re some of the most genuine and loving people you will ever meet.

Jesus promised “I will build my church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it.”

The real Church is His people, not a building.

But a building is a tool that enables us to disciples hundreds or thousands, 365 days a year, in a way that we could not without that tool (especially with our Midwest weather :)

Here is where tomorrow’s
Christ-centered leaders will be raised up in
the Next Generation

Here is where countless marriages will be healed

Here is where hundreds and then thousands will be baptized

Here is where moving Christmas and Easter services will point thousands to Jesus, year after year.

“In our Church,
Christ is the Head.
His Word is our Guide.
His Spirit is our Power.”

I’ve been trying to find the words for what Sunday meant to me, and I’m not sure I fully can.

Years ago, around 2017 or 2018, we had only been attending our church for a handful of months when they launched a capital campaign. A huge part of the vision was investing in the next generation and raising the strongest generation.

That mattered deeply to us.

We were just starting our adoption journey, and we knew we wanted our future child to grow up in a church that would fight for their faith, pour into them, and point them to Jesus. But honestly, it wasn’t just about our future kiddo. We had nieces and nephews we loved fiercely too, and we wanted that for them just as much.

One of the little reminders from that season was a magnetic tin jar. Inside are a few meaningful pieces from the campaign, including a tiny piece of paper with names of the next generation we were praying over.
That jar is still on our refrigerator.

Those names are still inside.

And one of those names is Stella.

On Sunday, I got to baptize her. Even typing this makes me emotional.

There is something overwhelming about realizing that a name you have quietly prayed over for years is standing in front of you, choosing Jesus for herself, and you get the privilege of being part of that moment.
It felt like getting to hold an answered prayer in my hands.

And I think I needed the reminder that God is always working, even when we can’t see it.

Sometimes the answer comes quickly.
Sometimes we pray the same prayer for years. Sometimes we may never fully know what He is doing behind the scenes.

But He is working.

So if you’re tired of praying for someone, keep going.

If you’ve been asking God for the same thing for years, keep asking.

Keep speaking their name to Jesus.

Keep praying for your kids. Your nieces and nephews. Your family. Your friends. The people you love who feel far from Him.

Don’t assume silence means nothing is happening.

There was a little girl’s name written on a tiny piece of paper on our refrigerator for years.

And Sunday, I got to baptize her.

God hears us. He is faithful. And I am so, so grateful. ❤️

7 years later, and still so grateful to serve 🤍

This week, I had the privilege of being featured in Connection Pointe’s Generosity Moment. Getting to play the role of a leader for the next generation is a huge honor that I don’t take lightly. I’m so grateful to play a small part in raising up the next generation!

What a beautiful weekend celebrating 35 kids across our Connection Pointe locations through Family Dedication!

We loved watching parents publicly commit to raising their kids to know and follow Jesus—and seeing our church family commit to walking alongside them.

We’re grateful for every family who shared this meaningful moment with us as we raise A Generation Set Apart!

Join us in praying for Travis as he begins his time in Ukraine! He arrived safely and will spend the next three months serving, learning, and allowing God to work through him and in him. Pray for God‘s protection, guidance, and that Travis would be a light and encouragement to everyone he encounters.
