Bring a good attitude. Or a bad one. We can work with both. Sometimes you just want to be around plants and not talk to humans. That's cool.

Unwind from the week and get grounded for your weekend with your hands in the earth.

Learn plants! You will be shown how to identify the plant(s) you will be removing, and share plant knowledge with each other.

You will breathe with the trees and witness the insects and birds loving their best life.
...

This is a recurring event weekly, with changing locations depending on the needs of the parks.

This week we are meeting in Treetroit One, at 5300 Elmwood st. 48211.

I am so late it hurts. I wanted to make a post about this for months.

Thank you to everyone involved in the premiere of Placements for Instruments, Small Choir, and Wind-Up Ensemble at Annex Gallery this past July. Thank you to Annex for welcoming new music. Thank you to the ensemble for showing up to rehearsals and working patiently and tirelessly outside of your comfort, and thank you expressly to those who showed up and made music for their first time. And most tenderly, thank you to @johnpablorojas for inspiring and uplifting me and all the other -ings but especially for loving me

So here it is, glimpses of Placements, captured (mostly) by those who love and celebrate music sooo much they would do it in a 90° gallery for al-harmain deli food ❤️ i will never hear cicadas again without also hearing your hearts. lets wind again soon. (July premiere is now on YouTube, link in bio :) ! )

An interview with Summer 2024 Resident Conner Darling (@connerdarling )☀️

Conner is an installation artist whose work “deals with seasonality, locality, the place where awe exists, interdependence, humor, emotional availability, boundaries and a response to site that hopes to illuminate the unique qualities of place”.
