It’s finally happening.. I’m finally making my Beehive post.

🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝

It has been two weeks since we’ve closed and I am still missing these girls and this show. It was such an extremely special time for us all… And, equally importantly, for our audience members who lived through the 60’s and laughed hard, wept into their hands, sang along, and caressed our faces at the end of each show. We had the unique opportunity to portray our audience members (and their bestest friends) in their youth, instead of characters. (Or, “correctors” as our choreographer’s young son called us. 😆😭🩷) All but one or two of our audiences were r o w d y, and it only got more and more fun as the show went on, and as we as a cast continued bonding, backstage. One of our most consistent compliments from audience members was that you could tell we were close, because the chemistry between each of us was undeniable. We could only ever stand there grinning and nodding our heads, wholeheartedly agreeing.

To my cauldron sisters. The girls I met in the bar bathroom. The girls I danced and sang *nonstop* with for an actual (calculated) 65 hours. This was unexpectedly hard work!! This was the most I think any of us has ever had to take such meticulous care of our voices and bodies for a show. What a gift to do it with each of you, specifically. Thank you for grounding me when I needed it. Thank you for bringing the energy of A THOUSAND SUNS into that theatre, every day. I love yall (and miss yall) so very much. HIVEMIND, FOREVER!

this one was really special. what a gift it has been to sing and dance despite it all. thank you to the beautiful team of beehive for creating such a safe, supportive space where we could make some deliberately joyful art. i love WOMEN!!!💗✨🪩

BEEHIVE YOU’RE MY BABY ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶

I am so grateful for the time I had as TexArts as their SM for Beehive! To be frank, I have not stage managed a MUSICAL since high school. Beehive was such a good reminder of why I love theatre. I cried when we opened, when old ladies would dance in the audience and I cried when we closed. Every show was different and special. I am so proud of these ladies and I can’t wait to come back and do another show 😈😈

Being in this show with these lovely ladies has fed a part of my soul that’s been hungry for a long time! It’s actually sickeningly sweet how much this cast loves each other. To my girls: thank you for matching my freak literally every day of the week and every pre-show ritual. You are literally all such bright spots on the earth and giggling with you has been better than any energy drink.

All that AND I got to portray an artist I’ve listened to and loved for so long, while getting to live out my Woodstock dreams!? Feeling just all kinds of grateful to Texarts!! NOW IM SAD!!🐝✌️

Irving Berlin’s White Christmas at @texartsassociation. I’m not quite ready to put into words what this experience has meant to me. Dream role, dream cast, dream crew, dream directing and creative team, all at one of my favorite theatres. It was extremely challenging at times, but 100% worth it; I feel like I grew as an artist (it was hard not to with this level of talent on stage with me). A huge thank you and all my love to everyone involved. What a beautiful way to ring in the holiday season and to end an incredible year of performing! ❤️

Bye Bob & Jean … bye new pages daily, line notes, blocking and reblocking and reblocking, experiments with cork, rice, quinoa, the Great Dust Bowl of ‘25, the rice fertilizer spreader, slip and slide, cat getting out of the cat box, sweeping and smoothing, Alaska adventures, torpedos, seashells, parents who sacrifice, sons who dig in to understand, one night we will never forget and replay the rest of our lives, a million laughs and a million tears. New work is a battlefield and we have the marks to prove it. Love and gratitude to this cast, these artists and technicians who birthed a new American play❤️
