My name is Connor. I’m from Dallas, Texas. I struggled with an addiction to Xanax, cocaine and alcohol. I’ve been completely sober since August 1st 2022.

I was homeschooled through my upbringing creating some social barriers I had that later set in to feelings of loneliness. I started smoking weed and taking Vicodin around age 17, then to slowly move on to all other hard drvgs.

I started spiraling around age 20, had my first DWI, had two car wrecks, lost most of my friends, and was struggling to stay sober through probation. Eventually, after probation being nearly revoked I served a week in Collin County Jail.

After this, I still didn’t change. Until being threatened with a 6 month jail term I decided it was time to get sober. I’ve gained 40 pounds since getting sober, I attend NA meetings 3 times a week, I go to therapy, and I work full time now in renovations. @connor_callaway

Just like that, the craziest semester is OVER‼️. We are so proud of our students/team and the incredible work they’ve done. The amount of recitals, baseball games, volleyball games, basketball games, soccer games, and other events they’ve produced this semester is truly amazing.

The past 9 months have been filled with many mountains and valleys, each teaching me and growing me. I walked into internship with knowledge of God, but no relationship, I desperately desired a community in my life, and I was so bound in pain and anger. This weekend I graduated 1st year with 39 friends who have quickly become family, I now have a strong, beautiful relationship with my father in Heaven, and I’m free and confident in who God has made me! I’m so grateful for this season of my life and the constant support of everyone around me!

you don’t realize what you have until you’re apart from it. being away from each and every one of you has made me appreciate the family i have so much more, and i can’t imagine walking in this season without you. not a day goes by where i’m not overwhelmed with gratitude for what each of you has sown into my life. your hearts to serve and passion for God’s people has blessed me so much in my journey to do the same. the care and support that is shown to each other is genuine and sacrificial. you all have a special place in my heart. honored to do life with you, and i can’t wait for what the future holds. i love and cherish each one of you, and i’ll see you soon <3

I’ve recently been asking God to break my heart for what breaks His all over again. He put me with people - one face, one need at a time. This trip was such a needed reminder of how simple the Gospel is and how simple our call is to live it out. Still profound and powerful, but not nearly as complicated as I’ve been making it out to be lately. Just love the person you’ve got right in front of you each moment… Thanks for letting me crash your party, Interns. You all made me better this week! 💕
