From all of us on the MW Beauty Team, thank you. We are humbled, sobered, grateful. We have been showered in down-pouring affirmation for the last two days. You have taken time out of your day to speak it out, and we hear it and acknowledge you. We couldn’t do it for any other reason but moments like this, the resounding “yes” stirs in us again... The revelation that we are on creative mission that is actually moving the hearts of women (and men!) to be reminded of the simple but profound realities of beauty, purpose, and meaning to life sobers me. It seems like a moment to scream and jump around [and I did that - @frame.visuals can attest] but as the minutes have passed I’m increasingly aware of the mountain ahead. I am clear that I don’t have what it takes to uproot and replant culture. And I’m incapable to absolve any pain, regret, insecurity, fear, shame, or any other stronghold of our souls that has plagued women since the beginning of time.
But, this I am sure: I am a participant in the renewal of all things. Anything broken, anything unjust, anything wretched and wrong with the world is being made right. I won’t do it on my own, that’s laughable.
But I am certain that I will revive as long as there is breath in my lungs. That is the destination of the kingdom to which I belong.
It will likely be messy if anything is going to live again. It will probably involve exposure of wounds, hurt feelings, offenses, honesty... but where has silence brought us?
Someone said to me the other day “The graveyard is clean. The nursery is messy.” We are here for new life. There’s enough dead with the condition of our souls. It’s time to resurrect the old truths again. And we aren’t here to “tell”, but to remind people of our song, our anthem, the one that is actually in the heart of every person beckoning us to the truly beautiful existence we were meant to live.

“We have not arrived to explain but to sing...
When you hit rock bottom, dig further down.
Grief is the seed of singing,
shame is the seed of song.”
