And just like that after almost two years, which in production time is roughly a decade, it’s goodbye.

It was my first time working in the firearms industry, which meant learning an entirely new world from scratch. There was no shortage of ways to get something wrong, so I figured it out. Trial and error. Make a mistake, don’t make it twice. Figure out what works, what doesn’t, and keep moving.

Somewhere in the middle of all of that, I learned that leadership is pretty simple. You show up. You come early. You stay late. You carry something when someone else has their hands full. You solve the problem in front of you instead of explaining why it isn’t technically your problem. You help. You have your team’s back. You make decisions and stand behind them. Most importantly, you do whatever needs to be done to get the job, and the people around you, across the finish line.

My peers voting me as one of the company GOATs meant a hell of a lot. Those were the same people who had been standing next to me at 5 a.m., working overtime, solving problems, and figuring out how to make impossible things happen. Somehow, we kept getting it done. On time and under budget, because that’s how I roll.

I’m genuinely grateful for the people I got to do it with, especially Rev, Conor, and Justin. You made the long days better, the ridiculous days funnier, and the impossible days a little more manageable.

I got to work with some of the baddest humans on the planet and experience a side of America that I probably never would have otherwise.

Was every part of the last two years easy? Absolutely not. Some of it was REALLY hard. But that’s usually where the useful stuff is. I learned what I’m capable of when things get chaotic, what kind of leader I want to be, and what kind I don’t.

Arizona has been a hell of a chapter, but eventually, every production wraps. The lights come down, the trucks get loaded, everyone goes home, and you move on to the next one.

I’m leaving with a lot of memories, a lot of lessons, and a hell of a lot of stories.

That’s a pretty good way to end a chapter.

We’ll see what the future has in store. ✌️🌵

Cinema is Light: At @offensivegroup our entire production team recently executed a badass action movie cinematic for one of the awesome brands we work with in record time. Writing, Producing and Directing and collaborating within our team is a daily thrill ride because everyone works so damn hard and brings such tremendous skill. Everyone crushed it. We also have the privilege to work with skilled contractors on spots like this - extensions of our creative force - specialists we get to bring in to help realize the insane vision we develop. This BTS sneak peek post is a dedicated shout out to the G&E crew who really brought the heat to this project. They are absolutely artists and sculpt light like wizards - all while having the best attention to detail and positively stellar attitudes about the long days and they are always earning respect for their craft on set from the OMG team. Kudos to @ianrgrau and @jasonjinwon for bringing the light on this one. You crushed it. More to come.
