And a lot of unknowns.

SOUTHERN MOROCCO: THE JEBEL BANI & CHEGAGA DESERT PATROL

Join us June 2027 for an epic overland experience.

Step beyond the reach of standard tourist corridors into raw, unscripted expedition ground. Designed in the pure spirit of early desert patrols and Long Range Desert Group , this self-reliant 4x4 traverse cuts through the High Atlas, tracks along the Jebel Bani ridge, and pushes deep into the Erg Chegaga dune sea.
Operating under specialized regional and military permits to access restricted border sectors, this is an exercise in genuine expedition leadership. You won’t be following a blue dot on a digital dashboard. Across the featureless expanse of dry lakebeds and sand seas, you will put pure dead reckoning navigation to the test—plotting bearings, managing headings, and reading terrain by eye.
Led by veteran military instructors, the focus is strictly on solid fieldcraft: convoy discipline, technical off-road driving, sand recovery, and practical bush mechanics when trail-side fixes are the only option. By day, navigate rocky canyon passes and ancient petroglyph sites. By night, establish remote wild bivouacs under vast, unpolluted desert stars, working as a unified crew to operate safely in extreme environments.

NEW TOOLS….

Ahead of our Borneo expedition we picked up some new saws from @silkysawsuk

Have two PocketBoy outback saw that will be fantastic for our jungle team especially the recce team who deploy ahead of the main group to check our 4x4 infil route and first nights camp location.

Also got two of these new limited edition Gomboy Kuro saws which were great in the woods this past weekend .

PHIL UNDERWOOD SCHOLARSHIP

In 2025 we started the Phil Underwood Scholarship, in memory of our good friend and in an effort to keep his memory and legacy a part of Maddogadventures.

The idea was we would take the successful candidate on a journey to assist them in getting outdoors more , help them with a change in direction or career opportunities.

Anyway meet “Ron” or @conrad1aaron our first candidate on the scholarship and someone that has in the last two years become a good friend and valued team member. We’re super proud to say that money raised via the gofund me was used to send Ron on a week long FREC 3 medical course and today Ron passed!

Some paperwork to sort out but this qualification, his upcoming jungle exped and the training over the last two years will mean we will also be able to get Ron qualified as a level 1 Wilderness Guide. Onwards and upwards!

We’re off to Borneo soon but stay tuned for details on how to apply for the next place on the scholarship opening later this year .
