Quest 2026 🔨 another epic day with lifeguards and friends - San Clemente Pier to Balboa Pier 💪 perfect weather for running and swimming the coast, the water was warm and clear, cliff jump was thrilling, sea caves and rock scrambling were adventurous. We had a strong showing from Newport and no devastating injuries this year 🙌 can wait to do it again!

The Mega Colossus is one of the best lifeguard races of the summer. This was my 5th time competing and I've improved every year. Even on no sleep and tired legs from yesterday's 50km swimrun, I finished in 1:32 for a 5 min PR. My goal is always Top 10 and this year somehow pulled off a W 🥇 Epic conditions, huge turnout, and a strong showing by my fellow Newport guards - Congrats to all the lifeguards competing this year - you are all HAMMERS 🔨

You know it’s good when you got them eating 80 pound in the corner. Went 23 for 40 on the best grade of yellows I’ve ever seen and went home early.

If I had a dollar for every time I heard somebody say or somebody made the comment “that dude has some balls” I’d be a wealthy man! Given that perception of the situation I felt there was only one song that was appropriate for the afternoon session on Tuesday, June 9, 2026. We’ve been tracking a swell that started in New Zealand and was headed in to Southern California ad about 180 degrees which is perfect for massive waves at the wedge. The swell hit Teahupo’o, then Hawaii, then Puerto Escondido in Mexico, and when it finally arrived to the coastline of Orange County it did not disappoint! Whole I’m on the beach capturing this monumental event I flip between still photography and video with the hopes that I can tell the story in both mediums….on this day, I got lucky and scored for both. Enjoy.
