Homemade prawn mee (with pork too) by @constralu !! 🦐🥓🍜 soup boiled with a kilo of prawn heads, topped with bean sprouts, fish cake/ball, prawns, pork, egg, blended chilli + rice and egg noodles 🔥👌🏼 Definitely hit that umami spot and satisfied our cravings for something prawny and porky lol

@constralu and another friend treated me to a Sunday roast here last weekend and guys it was amazing look at that mountain - a hefty mix of beef, lamb and pork piled on top of Yorkshire puddings the size of my head, duck fat roast potatoes and tasty veg, such good value at £20pp! We also got a side of cauliflower cheese cos why not 🧀

We enjoyed the lamb the most, followed by beef and then pork! I have to admit that I’m not a “drown your roast in gravy” person like my friends are but I loved the side of condiments they gave, especially the mint on lamb and horseradish on beef👌🏼

🍰Afterwards we each got their amazing cheesecake which was such a huge portion but SO good. Warning it was like 80% cream 20% crushed digestive-y biscuits lol so steer clear if that’s not your thing but it’s a yes from me 😋

@constralu has been raving about this place to me for ages, so glad I finally got to try it!

Finally had my indoor dimsum at @lotusgardenchinatown today with @constralu! Not cold or wet dimsum and not dying in the heat either (thank you air-conditioning) 😅😅

Was my first time at lotus garden and was slightly skeptical because it was rated lower on google than other places in Chinatown but we actually really enjoyed the food! I especially loved the har gow which was better than a lot of other places I’d been to in London, as the skin had the perfect thickness and softness. They were pretty generous with the prawns in general, as there were also huge chunks in the spring rolls! 🦐🥟Other than that, the dishes which really stood out for me were the messy salted egg custard buns (swipe to the end to see the pop!) and the XO fried turnip cake - esp the xo sauce and those crispy shrimp bits mixed inside, so fragrant and so good we ordered another portion at the end!

The service was super quick, and overall was pretty good value for money too imo (16 dishes plus tea and service totalled £74.90, between the 4 of us).

@pleasantladytrading Pleasant Lady jian bing (£6.80) + cumin lamb (£1.80) at @oldspitalfieldsmarket ! It was so nice seeing all the traders back in the market again.

I was a big fan of this savoury Chinese crepe 👌🏼 bit floppy and hard to eat but each bite was packed full of flavours and textures 😍 The lamb was succulent and the egg crepe itself the perfect thickness.
Would definitely recommend as a snack or light meal if you’re looking looking to try out other stalls in the market as well! Swipe to see the jian bing making process 👉

⚠️For all you soap-tasting people out there, be warned that there’s a lot of coriander in this (I’m sure you can ask for it without! 👀) 🌿

Featured in the 2nd pic is also food @constralu ordered from Yum Bun and Rice Brother’s! I tried some @ricebrotherlondon soy chicken char siu rice and it was good - the rice itself was flavourful, fragrant, ginger-garlic-y (and tasted more like authentic chicken rice than the one at Mei Mei imo 🙊). Would return.
