From sari scraps to symbols of rebirth 🫶🏼

This weekend @fondazionesozzani hosts @i_was_a_sari with a collection of hand-embroidered ornaments crafted by women artisans in India from upcycled saris and reclaimed embroidery materials.

Each piece tells a story of transformation — from discarded fragments to contemporary objects that weave together art and everyday life.
Not just festive ornaments, but symbols of care: towards women artisans, towards a shared idea of beauty, community, and humanity.

These pieces — such as notebooks and cards in fabric, bags — will be available for purchase, thoughtful gifts for the season and beyond.

@i_was_a_sari in @fondazionesozzani: a special pop-up dedicated to the social enterprise that transforms upcycled sari fabrics into unique handcrafted ornaments, empowering women artisans in India through sustainable work and traditional embroidery skills.

Every piece is created from repurposed sari scraps using the ancient Aari and Zardosi techniques, once practiced only by men and now reimagined by women as a celebration of creativity, resilience, and conscious beauty.

Mindful living isn’t just breathwork and green smoothies. It’s also what you put on, what you carry, and what you choose to leave behind.

Here’s @consuelo.funari doing her thing: moving with intention, wearing her favourite Love Bomber, and carrying a yoga mat bag that’s lived many beautiful lives before this one.

Because stretching your hamstrings and your values at the same time? Now that’s balance.
