Glorious day to hike to the top of this rock. #SriLanka is chock full of #worldheritage sites, and #sigiriya is not to be missed. #tastetheworld

En route we stopped off at the #Dambulla Rock Cave Temple. This stop was well worth it. The artwork and Buddhas have been there for millennia and stood the test of time. Will post some video later from inside the caves. #tastetheworld

A #latergram. One weekend, we did a Tour of Spain at our Table. Inspired by all the fresh produce from @belindali3036 garden & @dreamsmallfarm, and wanting to push our boundaries to deliver a fresh paella in time for serving as a final main course, we felt that Spain was worthy narrative for the evening. I also was inspired with the selection of excellent Spanish wines from the @lcbo - wines that most people would not buy unless they were specifically looking for. Menu is among the pics, and we had a lot of fun figuring it out. We served bread for a change, and we attempted and delivered on 2 types of gluten free bread. Other highlights included the fresh confited tomatoes, the summer in a glass of watermelon gazpacho with garden yellow tomatoes, plump garlic shrimp, the opportunity to sample jamon serrano, cheeses and marcona almonds with a variety of wines they were meant to be enjoyed with, and a rabbit, chicken and chorizo paella (the Spanish rarely mix seafood with land animals). We topped this off with a tip of hat to @ferranadria with using a orange fluid gel with dessert, and using bee pollen, fennel seed and olive oil in the macarons. All the wines (and fino sherry) worked well with the menu- all highly recommended (and hard to pick a favourite!). Overall, just another wonderful evening and grateful that we can do these unique dining events. #eatlocal #homechef #yowfoodie #tasteofspain #winepairing #spanishwine #glutenfree #chefbear #bearsofinstagram

A few pics from last weekend’s running (fast walking? Speed strolling?) excursion. It was a glorious day out with some pretty cool people and one awesome trail running pup. Thanks @thrivewairarapa for organising it all :) #wairarapa #tararuaranges #thrivewairarapa
