Today our first groups of students in Long Beach got their EYG "Think Big - Speak Big - Live Big" sweatshirts.

We have been bringing our mentoring conversations and exercises to the girls of the Rising Leaders Program and the students in the Math Collaboration throughout the entire school year. All of our conversations and exercises have encouraged them and put them in a position to think big, speak big and live big.

To start the school year we had our "7 WAYS TO ELEVATE YOUR G.A.M.E." sessions, mid year we focused on their CHARACTER and to end the school year we closed out with talking about the importance of being TEACHABLE.

We thank the staff at Poly for inviting us in and allowing us to transform the lives of these students in some way shape or form.

We Are The Temple
2 Corinthians 6:16-18
16 …For we are the temple of the living God; as God said,
“I will make My dwelling among them and walk among them,
and I will be their God,
and they shall be My people.
17 Therefore go out from their midst,
and be separate from them, says the Lord,
and touch no unclean thing;
then I will welcome you,
18 and I will be a father to you,
and you shall be sons and daughters to Me,
says the Lord Almighty.”

This TENT which is OUR BODIES is still the desired DWELLING PLACE for God because of our ability to “MOVE AROUND” and take God “EVERYWHERE WE GO” because HE IS IN US.
(2 Samuels 7:1-9 & 2 Corinthians 5:1-5)

EXHORT | 4E’S SERIES
12 Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. 13But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. -Hebrews 3:12&13 (ESV)

hardened: to inure (to accustom to accept something undesirable) to unfavorable environmental conditions (such as cold); to become gradually acclimatized to unfavorable conditions

The “UNFAVORABLE CONDITIONS” = fallen away, disconnected from God, withdrawn friendship from God, diminished faith

Fall away = to withdraw friendship or support, renounce one's faith, diminish gradually in size, drift off a course

*exhort: strongly encourage or urge (someone) to do something; call on, charge, try to persuade, incite, appeal to, entreat, implore, beseech, advise, counsel, admonish

“UNBELIEVING HEART”...EVIL…
…so what is it that we are supposed to be believing in?

Numbers 14:11
11 And the LORD said to Moses, “How long will this people despise Me? And how long will they not believe in Me, in spite of all the signs that I have done among them?

We see here that what our hearts should believe in is the LORD our God.

God simply and desperately wanted His people, and still wants His people and children to “BELIEVE IN HIM”; believe in His existence and in His “ goodness and abilities”.

Join us throughout the month as we begin our new campaign on exhorting each other as believers according to Hebrews 3:13: "...exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin."

Over the next four (4) weeks, we will use Hebrews 3:12&13 as our foundational scripture and discuss what it looks like to really “enter into God’s rest”. We will look back at what happened to cause the children of Israel, who were delivered out of Egypt not to enter into God’s rest and how their behavior can be our behavior even today. They and their behavior should serve as an example for us.

9th, 23rd &30th *no meeting on the 16th

This is the fourth “E” in our 4E’S SERIES {EXALT | EXAMINE | EXEMPLIFY | EXHORT} which we will be focused on. These 4 QUALITIES are what we believe, by the Spirit of God, are needed to be marked the SPIRIT-OF-EXCELLENCE.

We believe that SPIRIT-OF-EXCELLENCE is something that should be found in all of God’s people as it was found in Daniel (Daniel 5:11&12).
