This honor is deeply personal to me. I want the young women watching to see that they can lead, succeed, and take up space while embracing every part of who they are. We do not have to whitewash our culture, soften our roots, or make ourselves smaller to be accepted. Our culture belongs with us in every room we enter.

I accept this role with love, pride, and a commitment to represent our community well. May this moment remind the next generation that their heritage is something to celebrate—and never something they need to hide.

Last year this time I was in the biggest hole I’ve ever been in and I never thought I’d get out. I was the heaviest mentally and physically. I kept my head and spirits high for the sake of my kids and my business.

Today I am on a Disney cruise with my family.
We’re all happy and healthy.
We finally Got rid of a huge burden.

When they sounded the horn for sailing I cried my eyes out.
TO GOD BE THE GLORY.
I may not physically attend church weekly but he knows me and he’s kept me thus far !!
I’m so grateful!!
