Mine asked me to run 26.2 miles. 😂 Contessa, you inspired me to sign up and despite a few moments of questioning my parenting decisions, I’m SO happy I said yes. ❤️ We did it!!! A full Marathon 💪
A few unexpected plot twists, and a little miracle along the route…

God is great! Believe in yourself, keep moving, and let love carry you through. These miles came with a story we’ll be laughing about forever. One for the books. ❤️🙌

Sko Serve Spring Break Trip 25’

Huge thank you to the shelter @theroadhomeut for opening my eyes to new experiences.Thank you to Olivia, Val, and everyone who helped plan, support, and coordinate service. We are eternally grateful.

Thank you to all the participants who helped make this trip and service possible. Each one of you is so unique, talented, hardworking, and kind. I had the pleasure to learn so much about you and find myself this past week.

Thank you to all the residents we worked with. Life can be a hard place, and from the bottom of my heart, I hope that each person we meet can get back on their feet with resources and support. That is easier said and done, as homelessness is a complex issue. At the end of the day, there are many people in your corner rooting for you.

Affordable housing is crucial to prevent homelessness. In the meantime, I encourage everyone to volunteer time or money (opportunities linked in my bio). You never know how good you have it, until it’s gone. It’s also easy to turn a blind eye when you are brought up on the green side of the grass in a broken system. Take time to learn, serve, and reflect (in whatever ways you can).

Thank you to the Sko Serve team @cuvrc for training us as ethical leaders and cheering us on. There is always more to learn and I appreciate this as a start to many journeys.

Finally, thank you to co-site leader @aishani770. You are so smart, determined, and hardworking. You have put your heart and soul into this time and sometimes all the work you do doesn’t get the appreciation that it deserves. Without you, this trip wouldn’t have run as smoothly as it did. Stay true to yourself and know that people around you love and support you. Thank you so much for planning this with me this past year 🙏
