Editor’s Note:

I’m 45, heading toward 46, and I’ve learned something unexpected:

Most of us don’t have a foolproof plan.

I’m making it up as I go. Building the infrastructure while wobbling across it. Hoping my best intentions are enough to get me to the next chapter.

Somehow, through all the uncertainty, I’m gigging again, writing tales and tunes almost every day. I’ve found myself with a wonderful wife, an incredible son, good friends, meaningful work, and a growing collection of stories worth telling. @libfestival was a very special experience this year through all the dust. Figured I’d share some beautiful photos of it. Most taken by @helloatlasmedia, some by @brybit @camilledoan @mikeylion @cookieleonx

Lately, I’ve been working on a new rhyme book. It’s part poetry, part reflection, and part reminder that life isn’t something we figure out once, it’s something we keep discovering.

The older I get, the less interested I am in having all the answers and the more grateful I am for the questions.

@libfestival was on another level this year. I’d been looking forward to this gig for the last 6 months and I wanted to bring our son Finn along for the ride. It ended up being me, @cookieleonx, Finn, and his two grandmas in a trailer together. All of us doing our first LIB sober so we decided to get wholesome af with it. Seeing LIB through the eyes of my son was such a peak experience. The kid is hooked!

It was a full circle moment getting the party started on The Woogie on Thursday. Then playing a solo set at @grandartique was awesome and big vibes. But it was our Junkyard set on Saturday night that’s going down in history as an all-time Desert Hearts party. That was truly the for the psychedelic warriors. The new stage, the sound, and the vibe was just insane. I was on cloud 9 after that. I have a new favorite stage to play. 🛸

LIB has always been a huge part of my music and festival life. So thankful for @jesseflemming @joshflemming @dedeflemming & @thedolab for bringing us out. So proud of them for selling it out too!! I know how insane that feat is in 2026 and their dedication to the culture is 2nd to none.
