Record digging while visiting Derry, Northern Ireland.

I stopped by Cool Discs on Foyle Street, where they’ve been supporting Irish and local music since 1996. Well worth a visit if you’re in Derry.

Records by local artists that I brought home:
💿 The Undertones | The Undertones (1979)
💿 SOAK | Before We Forgot How to Dream (2015)
💿 Hypnic Jerk | On the Edge (2025)

Thank you to everyone in Donegal, Monaghan, Derry, Cavan and Fermanagh who have come along to join us so far on our Tour of Ulster. It’s been brilliant to see and play these counties so close home. Tonight and for the first time we will play in the @marketplace.armagh in Armagh and tomorrow we look forward to reaching @struleartscentre in Omagh, Co. Tyrone the home of the seat of the O’Neills!

Then Sat will return to the @belfastempire in Belfast before heading into the @courthousebangor in Bangor for our final show on our journey of Ulster.

Some tickets still available for Armagh and Tyrone.

I think this could be Interpol’s best album to date . Unmistakably them—dark and razor-sharp, but layered with a breathtaking, ambient glow.
Tis a thing of beauty.

I had a lovely chat with @domhnallmacdermott for his MacDonMUSIC column, for today's Derry News. We covered, among other things, influences, where the name The Tex Oliver Quintet came from and the album 'Nugs Hugs'.

Thank you Domhnall 😀

Oh, and you can find it on Bandcamp, at thetexoliverquintet.bandcamp.com, and the following great independent record shops
